  • Sharon decided to surprise her dance students with a trip to Bollywood Veges and we spent part of Saturday morning in a natural part of Singapore, walking among herbs, fruit trees and flowering plants.

    Ivy Singh-Lim, the warrior .......

"We can only be millionaires when we know what is enough ..... many billionaires or people don't know what is enough .... teach your children to be productive individuals. to look after the environment and Singapore ....."

Whether you like her or not, agree or disagree with her, whether she is talking about the environment, politics, netball or food, everyone can see she is passionate about what she does and lives with convincing verve.

Imagine living in the middle of all that peace and greenery ..... I would love it !

This flowering plant used to be so popular in Singapore gardens.

The Moringae tree with medicinal properties. it's leaves contain more Vitamin C than milk.

    Rows and rows of Dill.

Castor Oil  bean ........... VERY poisonous !!!

My favourite local herb Ulam Raja, eaten with rice and sambal blachan *yuuum* and has a nutty. slightly bitter flavour, almost like Rocket or Arugella. My mum grows this organically in her garden so we get supplies most weeks.

Organic Tapioca (Cassava) - these are the yellow variety, I have not seen this since twenty years ago when my aunt used to grown them behind her kampung home in Pontian. These were tasty, very fluffy after being boiled, quite unlike the stingy ones you get in the markets these days.

    What's on the menu there.

Vegetarian Bee Hoon with Sweet Potato Leaves

    The girls ......

The final Living Colour Class is today, it's also the final day of the schoo holidays for Nura.
We will be back on regualr schedule : early mornings, homework and revisions for PSLE.
