  • Finished ......... and yesterday I'd been scratching my head, looking at the dies and the papers, trying to figure out a project. I actually like how this has turned out !

I got an email about defining a *scrap style* and how long before you know what is your style. To be honest I am a really bad example because I switch every few weeks after getting bored with doing the same thing over a few projects. What I do know for sure are : I love versatility, I love change and challenges, I love anything paper.  Perhaps that would be a good starting point for most ? Do what you love, scrap what you like and be as free, as spontaneous as you like, refuse all labels. If you don't like mediums, that's ok ....... if you like tons of flowers, that's ok too !

If I had to define what scrap style is, probably it's more about what you are most comfortable with whether it's clean and uncluttered or many layers of embellishments, whether you consistently use brights or prefer the calm of quiet colours. It really is ok to want to create layouts in different styles, why box ourselves into a fixed way of doing things just because it is expected.  When I started scrapping almost 6 years ago, we followed rules : you MUST mat the photo, you MUST journal in a story form, the products were limited to 1) pretty 2) very pretty ..... everything was so sweet and pristine, layouts were measured into exact colour-blocked segments, where the height of creativity was adding a flower and a chipboard flourish.  Back then, I was so careful about following the rules because I was still learning and less confident about attempting anything new.

Compare that to NOW ...... **WHOOOOAAA**..... everything and anything goes !
And *OHHHHHH*  the variety in products ..... so much of it for endless possibilities ! It's such a great time to be scrapbooking because everything is acceptable and with this mixing of mediums and techniques we are seeing astonishing work.

These are just my perspectives, someone asked and I thought it would be interesting to share thoughts on *scrap style*.

    What is your style ?

I still don't know for sure, but it's ok ......... as long as I enjoy what I am doing.
